Narrow approaches that focus solely on improvement tools and methodologies are overly dependent on elaborate standards, procedures and technologies and often lead to an inability to attain, or sustain, results.
The Key Performance Consulting team uses our proven collaborative approach to provide clients with customized training and coaching solutions focused on operational excellence and improvements suitable to their unique organizational culture. We are not here to ‘fix you’ we are here to help you find your best solution.
We work with both public and private sectors, small to medium-sized enterprises are where we operate best—across every industry and business. We are experts in Lean, Lean Six Sigma and most other operational excellence methodologies—we are also a licensed Shingo Institute Affiliate so we know OPEX.
We find that many organizations are investing in productivity improvements however, success rates for achieving and sustaining improvements are quite low. The know-how behind Operations Excellence implementations is not a core capability for most organizations, nor should it be. It makes good business sense for most organizations to use consultants for implementation of these systems, and there are many consulting companies that offer these services.

KPC is an evidence-based process consulting firm. Our starting point is always this: organizational and operational excellence efforts should be based on a combination of critical thinking and the best available evidence. And by ‘evidence’ we mean both quantitative and qualitative. This may come from research, but it can also come from internal business data and even personal experience. Partnership between client and KPC. The consultant and the client act as equals. The client provides the knowledge of the organization's nature, business, and issues; and we provide the knowledge of the techniques, ways of thinking, and practices that apply to the problem. This partnership model helps guard against false solutions that may be trendy, but are not applicable and relevant to the organizational development issue.
Proper care of mutual responsibility. The client owns the problem and determines the solution. We help you see the issues and find what needs to be done. Not by not imposing a "canned" point of view, we ensure that a real solution, not an attractive but impermanent fix, is obtained.
Increased capacity for lessons learned. We are not "masked rider" consultants who provide silver bullets and having done so ride off into the sunset. We find all too often the ammunition doesn't last, and another rider must be called in again. By providing learning-based help we ensure increased ability by the client to sustain the intervention.
Better fit with current organizational needs. In our approach, the concept of a learning organization is second nature. The sharing of problem diagnosis and resolution leads to shared vision. We certainly have a toolkit of best practice methods, but we always ensure that the tools which are employed best fit the organization's needs and interests.
